FEATHER THE TURKEY!!!

In class today, many of you asked why the turkey on my bulletin board was "naked" and without feathers. I need your help. During the month of November, when you have a graded assignment, test, or quiz in science or English class, if you earn an A, you will be given a feather for the turkey. At the end of the month we will total the feathers and see which class contributed the most, and which student in each of the classes has the highest number of feathers. The class with the most feathers and the student in each class with the most feathers will have earned a special prize. Keep studying and be ready to feather that turkey!

Coming Soon...... Destination Climate

You've chosen your companies where you would like to work. In a few weeks we will be starting the webquest to entice people to visit your climate area. Through this webquest, your group will be presenting information about your chosen destination to share with us some of the reasons you feel we should visit that place. Groups will be announced soon and you can start thinking about some locations you would like to encourage clients to travel. Stay tuned for more webquest information.

English Anyone????

This week in English we started our second chapter on Parts of Speech. We will study verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, interjections, and prepositions. Keep an eye on our blog for School House Rocks videos to help you remember the job of each word type.
Don't forget to be studying your spelling and vocabulary.... these high scores could help bring up any low grades you may have.

What's Happening in Science???

We will continue to study climate and climate patterns over the next few weeks. We will also be having another opportunity for a GEEK of the Week when we begin section 2 next week. How would you feel about completing a weeklong webquest where you are travel agents trying to entice people to visit a city in your designated climate? We'll see what the response is and begin that project in a few weeks.

Welcome to my blog!

In a class last evening with Mr. Black, I created my own blog for our classroom. Look for future updates on the site. There may be opportunities for you to comment on things that we did in class, or those of you who check the site may get a preview of what will happen in the future.
